SBI FASTag: How to apply, activate, check balance and recharge online?

With SBI FASTag, you can make toll payments directly from your prepaid or savings accounts using Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. Using it, you won’t need to stop at toll plazas for cash transactions since a FASTag will be affixed to your windscreen. As part of the National Electronic Toll Collection (NETC) program, SBI FASTags are interoperable with toll plazas throughout the country.

How to get SBI FASTag?

You can apply for an SBI FASTag account at any Point of Sale (POS) location of a Bank authorized agency at a toll plaza or any other authorized center. You will be required to bring a copy and the original KYC documents to the center. You will have to fill out a form stating your personal details, vehicle details and submit the documents for verification purposes.

What are the documents required for SBI FASTag registration?

The documents required to get the FASTag are as follows:-

  • Registration Certificate (RC) copy of the vehicle
  • ID and address proof (PAN, Aadhaar or Ration Card)
  • Passport size photo of the customer

How to activate an SBI FASTag?

There are two types of accounts you can activate:-

(a) Limited KYC Holder’s accounts: Limited KYC Holder’s SBI FASTag account cannot have more than ₹10,000 in their FASTag Prepaid account. The monthly reload limit is also capped to ₹ 10,000. 

(b) Full KYC Holder’s accounts: But Full KYC Holder’s SBI FASTag accounts cannot have more than ₹ 1 Lakh in their FASTag prepaid account. There is no monthly reload cap in this account.

How to check the balance of your SBI FASTag? 

State Bank of India sends instant SMS alerts on registered mobile numbers in case of toll transactions, low balance, etc. Moreover, for a manual checkup, one can check the official website or log in through the app and enter the details.

How to recharge SBI FASTag Account?

You can use any online banking method to recharge SBI FASTag, including credit cards, debit cards, or mobile wallets like Paytm, Google Pay, and BHIM UPI. If you recharge your FASTag wallet via UPI, you are limited to Rs 2,000/- per day. Alternatively, you can pay agents cash in hand to recharge your FASTag.

How to recharge SBI FASTag using Google Pay or BHIM App?

It is easy to recharge FASTag account using GPay or BHIM App; follow the given steps:

  • You will need to open GooglePay or BHIM App.
  • Swipe up on your screen to find the Fastag.
  • Click on the FASTag icon.
  • To send money to FASTag, select the account you want to use.
  • Enter the amount of the recharge.
  • Tap the checkmark to confirm.
  • Make the payment.

How to complete SBI FASTag KYC online?

SBI’s official website provides many facilities from registration to application. You need your login details received after registration to log into the website. 

The minimum KYC details required as per Issuer bank policy are:-

  1. Vehicle Registration Certificate (RC) Copy
  2. Photo of the customer
  3. Id Proof like Aadhar Card
  4. Full Name, Mobile, Address with Pincode and other details

How to register a complaint regarding SBI FASTag?

To Register, a complaint regarding any issue related to your SBI FASTag is simple. Just dial 1800 11 0018, and you will receive support from the State Bank of India. 

You can also lodge your FASTag related complaints on the website- https://crcf.sbi.co.in/ccf or by writing to the mail id- helpdesk.fastag@sbi.co.in.

Additionally, you can dial on 1033 too, which will directly connect you to the central authority of FASTag Call Centre.

How to surrender or deactivate SBI FASTag?

To cancel or close the tag, the FASTag holder must submit a written request along with the existing FASTag. Customers must surrender the damaged FASTag if the existing FASTag is damaged. You will receive a new FASTag after paying a fee. When a customer dies, their heirs are entitled to a refund of the FASTag amount after providing the death certificate and other appropriate documents.
